Beograd Oglasi is an independent English-language notice board for Belgrade. We write about three things that tend to go together in this city: the fish and river food of the Danube and Sava, the basics of fishing those rivers, and the concerts, shows and matches worth planning a night around.

What we are, and what we are not

We are an information site. We do not sell fish or anything else, we cannot take orders, and we are not affiliated with any fish company, processor, restaurant or ticket seller. When we mention a market, a kafana or a venue, it is because it helps readers understand the city, not because anyone has paid to appear.

Why the rivers

Belgrade stands at the confluence of the Sava and Danube, at the crossroads of the Pannonian Plain and the Balkan Peninsula. Zemun, now part of the city, was historically a Danube port and a major fishing center, and fish soups are still considered delicacies in Serbian cooking. Great War Island, at the meeting of the two rivers, is a protected fish spawning area where 53 species have been recorded. River food is not a niche interest here; it is part of daily life.

What you will find

How we work

We stick to what can be checked. We do not publish event dates we cannot confirm, we do not quote prices that change from season to season, and we do not invent reviews or testimonials. Where details such as opening hours or permit costs matter, we point you to the official source and suggest you check locally.

Written for visitors, newcomers and English-speaking residents, the site aims to make a first fish soup, a first fishing trip or a first concert at the arena a little easier to plan.
